A Little Biography

I'm a Canadian man with a Pakistani heart.

My parents taught me that if someone needs help and you can give it, you give it — which is, more or less, the whole reason I design

Work and Volunteer Experience

AI Evaluation Generalist — Outlier (4–5 months)
I spent several months evaluating AI systems across a range of projects, from voice-acting and audio models to prompt testing and response quality assessment. The work was essentially structured usability testing at scale: run a system against varied inputs, judge the output against defined criteria, and document where and why it failed. It sharpened how precisely I write evaluation criteria and how quickly I can spot the gap between what a system was built to do and what it actually does — which is the same instinct most of my design work runs on.

I earned Honour Roll standing for 2024/2025 and have maintained it through 2025/2026. I also play varsity indoor soccer for the Golden Hawks — balancing a competitive season against a full studio course load has made me reliable under deadline pressure and comfortable in teams where everyone's work depends on everyone else's.

I also spent a full week volunteering for O-Week at Laurier Brantford, working shifts across a range of jobs helping the incoming class settle in. It was physically and mentally demanding in a way I didn't expect — long days, constant switching between tasks, and hundreds of first-years who were nervous, lost, or both. What stuck with me was how much of the job was reading someone quickly and figuring out what they actually needed, which was often not what they'd asked for. It's the same skill research interviews demand, just at a faster pace and with no notes.

I've spent two years in public outreach with Canadian Muslim Vote, a non-partisan civic engagement organization. The work meant approaching strangers, explaining why something mattered without lecturing them, and adjusting in real time based on how someone was responding. It's the closest thing to user research I did before I knew what user research was.

I have also volunteered with the Muslim Association of Milton food bank. That work taught me something design school doesn't: a service can be well-intentioned and still hard to use, and dignity in how something is delivered matters as much as whether it's delivered at all.
